Scenario planning and its importance in charting Singapore’s long-term challenges were the subjects of discussion at a public lecture on Friday.
The Shell Global Scenarios event was jointly organised by the oil giant and Singapore’s Institute of Policy Studies.
While Singapore may not have a carbon tax regime yet, Shell International’s chief political analyst said the company has been using US$40 per tonne for carbon emissions, as a planning norm in its investment decisions.
Dr Cho-Oon Khong and other speakers at the lecture also felt it is important for citizens to take climate challenge more seriously.
